This directory covers more than 300 Iranian publicly funded institutions involved in research and development, which are listed under the main fields of science and technology. It contains information on organizations, their R & D staff, current research activities, major publications, etc. An index has been also provided for the research institutions, affiliation in order to facilitate cross-refrence access. Of all the R & D institutions listed in this directory, 18 percent are in agricultural sciences, 4 percent are in basic sciences, 12 percent are in engineering and technology, 23 percent are in medical sciences, 11 percent are in humanities, 5 percent are in social sciences and 27 percent are in inter-diciplinary sciences carrying out research and development activities.
